Charles Wade Barkley, born February 20, 1963, in Leeds, Alabama, is a former American basketball player. After a standout college career at Auburn, he was selected 5th overall in the 1984 NBA Draft by the Philadelphia 76ers. He played 16 NBA seasons, notably with the Phoenix Suns and Houston Rockets. Nicknamed 'Sir Charles', he was named MVP in 1993 and appeared in 11 NBA All-Star Games. A two-time Olympic gold medalist in 1992 and 1996, he has been a Hall of Famer since 2006.
