About

Charles Aznavour, born Shahnour Vaghinag Aznavourian in Paris, was a major French-Armenian artist of the 20th century. Author of over 1,300 songs, he recorded about 1,400 titles in eight languages and sold more than 100 million records. His iconic songs include 'La Bohème', 'Hier encore' and 'Emmenez-moi'. Alongside his musical career, he appeared in over 60 films, including François Truffaut's 'Shoot the Piano Player'. Committed to Armenia, he served as Armenia's ambassador to UNESCO and founded a humanitarian association after the 1988 earthquake. He received numerous honors, including the Legion of Honour and the title of National Hero of Armenia.
