Cameron Diaz, born August 30, 1972, in San Diego, California, is an American actress and former model. She began her career as a model at age 16, then made her film debut in The Mask (1994). She rose to fame with There's Something About Mary (1998), earning a Golden Globe nomination. She received three additional nominations for Being John Malkovich (1999), Vanilla Sky (2001), and Gangs of New York (2002). She voiced Princess Fiona in the Shrek franchise (2001-2010). Her films have grossed over $3 billion at the U.S. box office. She received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2009. She is the author of The Body Book (2013) and The Longevity Book (2016). She retired from acting in 2018, but returned with Back in Action (2025).
