About

Bram Stoker was born in Dublin in 1847. After a sickly childhood, he became an athlete and studied at Trinity College. He worked as a civil servant and later as manager of the Lyceum Theatre in London. His novel Dracula (1897), based on research into vampire folklore, achieved lasting success. He also wrote other novels and short stories. He died in London in 1912.
