Boris Johnson, born Alexander Boris de Pfeffel Johnson on 19 June 1964 in New York, is a British politician. A former journalist and editor, he served as Conservative MP, Mayor of London (2008-2016), Foreign Secretary (2016-2018) and Prime Minister of the United Kingdom (2019-2022). A leading figure in the Leave campaign during the 2016 referendum, he took the UK out of the European Union. He also managed the COVID-19 pandemic and supported Ukraine after the Russian invasion of 2022. He is the author of several books, including a memoir.
