Bob Hoskins was an English actor born on 26 October 1942 in Bury St Edmunds and died on 28 April 2014. He rose to fame through Dennis Potter's TV serial Pennies from Heaven (1978) and the film The Long Good Friday (1980). He won BAFTA, Golden Globe and Cannes Best Actor awards for Mona Lisa (1986) and received an Academy Award nomination. He starred in popular films such as Who Framed Roger Rabbit (1988), Hook (1991), Nixon (1995) and Enemy at the Gates (2001). He also directed two films and won an International Emmy for The Street (2009). Diagnosed with Parkinson's disease, he retired in 2012.
