Bernard Werber, born September 18, 1961 in Toulouse, is a French novelist. A former science journalist, he achieved international success with his first novel, Les Fourmis (1991), which sold over two million copies. His work, often described as 'philosophy-fiction', blends science fiction, mythology, and popular science. He is notably the author of the Thanatonautes, Gods, and Third Humanity cycles. His books have been translated into more than 35 languages. He is also a comic book writer, playwright, and filmmaker.
