Anna Wintour, born 3 November 1949 in London, is a British fashion editor. She served as editor-in-chief of American Vogue from July 1988 to June 2025, a 37-year tenure, before becoming Global Chief Content Officer and Global Editorial Director of Vogue for Condé Nast. Previously, she edited British Vogue (1986) and briefly relaunched House & Garden as HG (1987). She has co-chaired the Met Gala since 1995, helping raise over $400 million for the Costume Institute. She co-founded the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund in 2003 and has championed designers such as John Galliano, Alexander McQueen, Marc Jacobs, and Thom Browne.
