About

Ambrose Redmoon, born James Neil Hollingworth, was an American writer and countercultural figure. Active in Greenwich Village in the 1950s, he managed psychedelic rock bands and briefly served as an editor for Rolling Stone. After a near-fatal car crash left him paraplegic, he turned to writing and the study of Western esoteric traditions. His aphorism on courage, published in 1991, gained fame posthumously.
