About
Alberto Sordi, born in Rome in 1920, is one of the greatest Italian actors of the 20th century. After starting as a dubber for Oliver Hardy, he rose to fame thanks to Federico Fellini in 'The White Sheik' and 'I vitelloni'. A major figure of commedia all'italiana, he appeared in nearly 200 films. Awarded a Golden Globe, seven David di Donatello, and a Silver Bear, he received the Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement in 1995. Founder of the Alberto Sordi Foundation, he died in Rome in 2003.
